 
Steven James "Steve" Borden[2] (born March 20, 1959)[2] better known by his ring name Sting, is an American professional wrestler, perhaps best known for his tenure with World Championship Wrestling (WCW). He is currently under contract with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).[1]
Borden has held twenty-three championships in various promotions throughout his career, including thirteen world heavyweight championships. He is a six-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, two-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion, two-time WCW International World Heavyweight Champion, two-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion and one-time WWA World Heavyweight Champion. Known as the "franchise" of WCW,[5][6] he is perhaps the most well-known professional wrestler to have never signed with World Wrestling Entertainment.[7][8] Borden is the only wrestler to win Pro Wrestling Illustrated's "Most Popular Wrestler of the Year" award four times.
